This Privacy Policy explains how CleanerPal ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our iOS application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and designing our application with privacy in mind. By using CleanerPal, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand how the application operates. If you do not agree with this policy, you should discontinue use of the application.

Information we collect

CleanerPal is designed to help users organize and clean up their photo library. To provide these features, the application may request permission to access your photo library. This permission is entirely optional and can be granted or revoked at any time through your device's Settings.

When access is granted, the app may analyze metadata associated with your photos and videos, such as file size, creation date, media type, duplicates, similar images, screenshots, or other information necessary to identify content that may be safely reviewed for cleanup.

Whenever possible, this analysis is performed directly on your device. Your personal photos and videos are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for advertising purposes. We do not use your personal media to build advertising profiles or train machine learning models.

Depending on the features you use, the app may also collect limited technical information such as device type, operating system version, application version, crash logs, and anonymous diagnostic information. This information helps us improve application stability, identify bugs, and provide a better user experience.

Gmail access

If you choose to connect your Gmail account to CleanerPal, the app may request read access to analyze your inbox, identify subscription senders, count spam messages, and provide email cleaning recommendations. CleanerPal only reads message metadata and content required to generate these insights.

CleanerPal may also request modify access when you explicitly request an action, such as unsubscribing from mailing lists, moving emails to Trash, or deleting spam messages. CleanerPal never performs modifications automatically without your confirmation.

How we use your information

We use the information processed by CleanerPal solely for the purpose of providing the application's functionality. This includes identifying duplicate or similar photos, organizing media into helpful categories, estimating storage usage, and generating cleanup recommendations.

Diagnostic information, when available, may also be used to improve performance, fix software issues, develop new features, maintain the security of the application, and better understand how users interact with CleanerPal in an aggregated and anonymous manner.

On-device processing

Privacy is a core principle of CleanerPal. Many of the application's analysis features are designed to run entirely on your device without requiring your photos to be uploaded to external servers. Processing data locally helps reduce unnecessary data transfers and gives users greater control over their personal information.

While certain optional services, analytics, or subscription validation may require communication with external providers, these services are limited to the minimum information necessary for their intended purpose.

Subscriptions & purchases

CleanerPal offers optional premium features through subscriptions or in-app purchases. All payments are processed securely through Apple's App Store infrastructure. We do not receive or store your payment card information.

Subscription status, purchase validation, and entitlement management may also be processed by trusted third-party services such as RevenueCat. These providers process information in accordance with their own privacy policies and security practices.

Any billing questions, refunds, or payment disputes are generally handled by Apple according to the terms of the App Store.

Data retention

We aim to retain information only for as long as necessary to provide the services described in this Privacy Policy or as required by applicable law. Data processed locally on your device generally remains under your control unless you choose to delete it.

Anonymous diagnostic information may be retained for a reasonable period to improve application quality and investigate technical issues.

Third-party services

CleanerPal may integrate with trusted third-party providers to support essential functionality, including subscription management, analytics, crash reporting, and application performance monitoring. These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their services.

We encourage users to review the privacy policies of any third-party services that may be used alongside CleanerPal.

Your choices

You remain in control of the permissions granted to CleanerPal. You may revoke photo library access at any time through your iPhone or iPad Settings. If access is removed, certain features of the application may no longer function as intended.

You may also uninstall the application at any time if you no longer wish to use the service.

Children's privacy

CleanerPal is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
